Yes, you are correct in saying both are crimes.....but whenever someone is caught speeding or jay-walking, it isn't over-dramatized in the media, which ostracizes anyone who walks or drives a car. You don't see headlines "Man Caught Going 5 MPH over Limit."

But if someone is caught illegally keeping a snake (any snake), thats exactly what happens and reflects badly on the herp community as a whole.

Oh and cut it out with the "V for Vendetta" quotes. Grow up, children.

Lol, and why are you calling me a child? You do realize you are only 4 years older then me, right?

Mhmm. Call me a child, and insult all you want. You still haven't addressed any of my points....
Actually, I believe I did in my last post....i.e. the one you just quoted. I even said you were correct in your points, but I countered it with another point...which you have yet to address.

Sorry, I was just making an assumption based on your maturity level. I apologize. I mean, can you blame me? You obviously cannot read.

1. You never addressed it. My points were that the thread was discussing the morality, and I added quotes to back it up.

2. Pray tell me how I cannot read? And my maturity level? You started this Ace...

Oh snap. Can YOU read? You were addressing the other man's post, not mine....

Anyway Ophiuchus, I'm heading to bed. I tried to start out civil with you, you started with insults instead of points. So, there really is no point in continuing this conversation at this point.

If you wish to continue this in a civil, adult manner, let me know. If not, thats cool too.

I only insulted those who expressed it was perfectly fine to keep reptiles illegally.

On Nov 11, at 7:50pm, Reptech said...

i have had tons of illegal reptiles in my life the ones you cant have are the best ones lol

At 9:51 of the same day, I said...

Can't speak for everyone else, but I can proudly say I have never kept any animal illegally. As much as I hate some of these silly laws, simply breaking them isn't the answer. In fact, it makes the entire hobby look bad as a result. For every selfish idiot caught, it feeds the impression that all reptile keepers are willing to break the law to satisfy themselves. A very wrong impression, I know, but thats the world we live in, folks.

So for you childish and selfish brats out there, try looking at the bigger picture before you make such idiotic decisions.

Yes I made a insult, but I really do not feel the need to apologize to anyone who wants to piss on this hobby that I take very seriously. It pains me terribly that so many here do take their actions as seriously as I do.

On the subject of childish behavior, you made the following statement (twice, actually), quoting from a film that subtlely hints at anarchy.

Remember remember the 5th of November

Implying that stealing a snake from a petstore or keeping any reptile illegally is even comparable to destroying a corrupt (albeit fictional) govt clearly shows your ignorance on such matters and is just a feable attempt to sound "cool" or "ominous" (or insert whatever adjective you kids today find to the new fad).
--------------------

Just be clear, you only had one point and you made it. My point is that legality and morality goes hand in hand. You can't discuss one without bringing up the other.

If you wish to continue this in a civil, adult manner, let me know. If not, thats cool too.

I have been doing so from the beginning and resent your insuation to the contrary.

Oh snap. Can YOU read? You were addressing the other man's post, not mine....

Once again...I apologize. All you kids start sounding the same to me.

EDIT: Its really not worth it....

Come back if/when you grow up a bit, and we can have an actual conversation.

wow so you want to call me out lol wrong way to go buddy there are so many kids around here who drive 2 minutes over the border into ri and buy gators, monitors, diff. kinds of turtles, weather loaches, piranha, and a few other fish and bring them over to ma. and when they figure out they cant handle them i take them and give them the homes they need as some one with 13 yrs exp. i think im not hurting the herp world by getting these animals out the hands of kids so if you dont know what your talking about then dont bring up my name and your acting like a 13 yr old little girl crying about this like your going to save the world so grow up its not like where stealing or selling drugs where caring for animals that could fall into the wrong hands
