So I bought some live rock the other day and put it in my saltwater tank.
Looks like there was a starfish in the rock.
Free surprise gift for me!

So I don't really know too much about starfish. I asked the fish store yesterday if there is anything I should buy to feed him and such, but they told me that starfish are basically scavangers and I don't need to buy anything.
Is this true and are there any other things I should do to help keep this little surprise guest alive?

yea, but i heard starfish need a pretty well developed tank.

yeah they dont need any feeding as long as theres other fish being fed in the tank abd show me pics so i can tell you what kind you have be warned that some stars will eat all you crustaceans and some corals maybe even a fish

Sorry, i'm unable to take any pictures, but i'll try to describe it.

It's really small, about the size of a dime or nickel.
It looks like it has 6 legs (three look like they are regrowing)
Light tan color.
