So i went in the local gas station today and read a sign that said "Free 29G Aquarium." So i called and sure enough an older lady said she had it up and running. Its in perfecet condition. Need some ideas on what to do with it. Here it is set up in my girls room

give it to your girl and let her dictate what goes in it

personally it is my mission to give each of my kids their own tanks and let them dictate what goes in it

my daughter wanted my red devil so I gave it to her and the 60g it was in, I just moved the fish to a new 4 ft 100g and put in a light layer of small pebble rock and the rest of the tank is up to her. what better way to empower them with a love for fish but give them the reins of the tank unless its dangerous for the fish
 
Yeah its gonna stay in her room. She had a little 10G that started leaking and was never replaced. Shes been buggin me ever since for another. Shes only 5 so ive still got to point her in the right direction on some decisions. I have a 55 sw and was kinda wanting to do the same with this one. Ive got other fw tanks, but would rather do sw on this one.
 
for sure she would love it

but if I were you I would take her to the pet store explain to her the size contstraints and then ask her what kind of fish she would like google the types that would live in the tank and let her go at it

I can think of nothing more enriching in my mind very interested to see what ya do with this
 
Well i actually have the 55G SW in the cycle process and the nitrites are falling off. I expect it to be fully cycled next week. This tank is goin to be the nemo tank with blue tang, flame angel, and a coral beauty. I was tryin to think of something different to put in this one. Something really active. Maybe like a one puffer tank or something of that sort.
 
well you could use it to quarantine new fish inverts live rock and coral's when you get them or a hospital tank as well. Or you could toss some idea's around for your plan's great find by the way.

yeah thats a good idea reef on the QT tank, but i know my lil girl gonna have a fit if i dont fill it with some sort of livestock of her own. Any suggestions on a single puffer that would be good for life in this size tank?

Puffer's, unfortunately don't do well in tank's smaller then 100 gallon's, you could maybe stock in with some dwarf sea-horses there is a good book on them if you look it up on amazon and set it up like that and maybe you could do pipe-fish or something unique that will spark her interest and curiosity in the tank. If you want I'll send you info on keeping any kind of sea-horse's or pipe-fish.
