There's a guy in Chicago claiming to be a college student who's on the forums looking to eat your fish. Send it to him.

ok...so can u actually eat the fish out of your tank?
I mean...I use that stuff to remove chlorine...is it safe to heat and eat?
Yes, you just don't want to eat fish that have been treated with malachite green or other potentially harmful medications.

The idea is to find it a home, not a hungry fish keeper.

Contradictory?

Clearly not a serious suggestion, but OP has noted that he would permit for the fish to be eaten.

Would I eat it? Nope- same chemical concerns you address in your post.

thats is correct , i used to be a butcher at a super market in south central la, we had regular tilapia(mojarra to us Latinos) we had them in a holding tank ready to kill and package , very tasty ..

anyways to the OP gl finding that nice looking fish a home.

Iwould love to have a fish like pacu that eat lots of fruit and whatever else tasty you can think of...make sure not to treat it with any strange chemicals(never had to do this in the first place) and then simply eat it. crazy. hope u find your fish a good home, I would take it if I hadn't just started up a pleco colony.
