He was initially "flashing" or rubbing himself on things in the tank quite a bit. Once I noticed the rubbing I did the Paraguard and the the rubbing has stopped. His tail is also badly split and has been since day 3 or 4 of having him but he is housed alone so it isn't a fin nip. He's often colored way down except for here and there when he gets a wild hair and attacks his reflection. His color gets pretty intense then and he is a stunner. Here's a pic of him too see the tail. He's quite stressed and dull in this picture.
Another thing I'm noticing is his belly is looking more sucked in each day.

I don't understand whats going on with this guy anymore his tail split in another spot today and seems to be disintegrating. Should I get more paraguard or try the melafix again?
Not that I have noticed. What should I be looking for? If you're referring to the first picture on this page of the thread, no thats Just a splinter of driftwood thats in front of him. Weird camera angle.
It just looked like something black was attached to gill plate but may of been object just in front of fish. It looks big, so you probably would of seen it.
