Hi. I recently bought a 3" baby jardini...is it ok to feed this little guy freeze/sun dried products? i purchased bloodworm, daphnia, krill & shrimp today on ebay. im trying to get him on pellet but he has no interest at this moment. so im thinking of feeding him just freeze/sun dried stuff...would this be ok for natural growth?

Freeze dried food is fine but it can be harder to get arowana's onto it than when you're feeding frozen food. As for best growth market prawn is the best thing to feed but make sure you cut it to size first.

just gave him a prawn..he loves it! i also tried him with bloodworm thawed out..but he ate one and spat the second out! which i was surprised at. trouble is he's not alone in the tank and once a worm goes in..all hell breaks loose! thanks for the replies..i just want to make sure he gets eating.
another question...is it possible to add salt? K normally add 1 table spoon per 18ltr's during a water change..can i still do this or not?

Thats a marketing scam as salt has been known to cause bloat in rift lake cichlids due to the changing conditions. Rift lake cichlids need minerals from hard water not salty. Also just because if someone thinks its good for one type of fish it doesn't mean its good for another. Not meaning to have a go but arowana's are from soft and low pH waters where as rift lake cichlids are from hard and high pH waters :).

im aware of water parameters for both species of fish..i keep my water close to neutral..7.2 is the highest its ever been. i wont add salt from here on in.
thanks.
