Freezer burnt smelt floating, is there a cure?

Stripping the skin off helps also.

You will be surprised how easily the skin peels off while freezer burnt, and frozen.

It sounds a bit messy and I don't care for the weird smell that smelt fillet have.I could squeeze them easy enough in a plastic bag without actually touching them but peeling off skin sounds like another matter.

Surprisingly i tried this and it didn't work. Mind you i didnt squeeze too hard, i will give it another try tonight, to be fair i only tried it once.

Can try soaking it for a few minuets in cup of warm tank water. And can break them in half

Soaking is how I usually thaw them when I feed them. I'll try breaking in half.
