Freezer turned indoor pond?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think it would be worth a shot. I agree with biohazardcustomz about using great stuff and then sealing with aquarium safe silicone. Sounds to me like the best bet. If you do it make sure to post pictures! Good Luck!!!!

Don't think I'll be burying one. After thinking about it, if I am going to dig a hole and use a pond liner anyway, why do I need the freezer? :) I could just line the hole and call it good.

One thing to think about if doing it indoors is making sure the plastic inside is supported by something. You'd need to fill the entire inside (where the insulation is between the plastic and the outside wall) and back (bottom) of the freezer with spray foam and let it harden. Not just the openings where the shelf brackets were. If you don't, the water weight will likely shatter that plastic inside liner before you even get it full.

my LFS definitaly has a GIANT PACU in a freezer full of water.... I dont think they did anything to it. very unsightly ..

Like, swimming in the freezer, or the water is frozen? Think you can get a pic next time you're there?
