ummm u could get some other chiclids to diffuse the aggresion such as fire mouths or a pair of convicts.
I've tried. The pics came out so blurry I'd be embarrassed to say they were mine.Hawkfish3.0;2178209; said:Very cool specimens.
On a side note: if I may suggest, try taking a couple pics without the flash on, you may not get the washed out appearance of your current pics.
Appearances can deceive. The male's an aggressive bugger. He terrorised my old jewels for an entire day and night even though he was the newcomer (I gave them away the next day to save their lives). And he strikes terror into the hearts of the two females living with him. I wonder if he's ever spawn. Perhaps he's just too aggro to accept anyone.ewok;2178153; said:don't get any cichlids is what i say. these guys are tiny, probably won't hold up well against other cichlids. convicts are probably a poor choice because we all know how spunky they are. if they hold off oscars these little pikes are gonna be toast.
get something small that moves fast like serpae tetras, some kind of larger killi fish that's moving on the surface instead.
i thought these guys come from faster moving waters? that's something to keep in mind. driftwood and what not is fine, but get some rocks and stuff in there as well so the female has room to hide. getting another female may not necessarily diffuse anything.
Thanks man.Horiyoshi III;2178248; said:If you can find a way for that predominant white reflection that is on it's lower half in every shot, that specimen would photograph many times better.
Beautiful Crenicichla.
