No buffering. I had to used Crushed coral in the sump to buffer my well water up.

you don't have a pic of it or when I meet you if it is not sold can I see it would like to add a substrate to my large tank might go with the gravel I have but you know.... see mike you worry about stability and so forth I don't ill get a unstable dat stable mike ill be in further touch on the grouper the aggression has my buddy concerned so post it as available cause I don't know what he is doing he fears for his other fish then says it woul be cool to see a massacre

No worries, when you come down I'll bring you and Pat by the house to see the tanks. You can see the substrate, other tank, lights, and grouper, etc...

BTW...The gravel does not buffer at all. It's good stuff and works great w/ a Python.
