Throwing a bala in there is a bad choice. Balas need to be in groups of at least 3 to 5 to feel secure... they are skitish and fast swimmers and they are going to end up injuring themselves as this would not be an ideal setup for them.... too many large fish already.
I agree that you should change your feeding/cleanup habits instead of trying to fix it with a fish.... you already have some bottom feeders there.
yea clown loaches and balas all need to be in groups. To be honest they are all spoiled the only ones who will go for live is the oscar. Also the Red tail cat I was basicly givin when I purchased the ID and the Gar. So my buddy got a bunch of money for his bday and is buying a big tank.... Doesnt know Im giving him the Red Tailed Cat for a present because he loves it. Its not that balas or clowns dont get big enought its finding one big enought or them accually doing a good job. Because if I have larger ones they will just eat what I put in for the big fish. If I have smallers ones they will disapear. I tested up dumping 2 comet gold fish in last night. Absent this morning. I might just have to change feeding habbits.
I was going to change MY feeding habbits, such as less food, more compact chunks and things like that so when it sits at the bottom waiting for the cat to come suck it up it doesnt go everywhere.
