No, actually they don't, but even if that was true, it still wouldn't mean a thing in this case. Putting a 36-40" fish that is the girth of an adult man's arm in a 18" wide tank would just be cruel. Even a 2' width is still barely enough, tbh. An adult TT in a 150 gallon would literally not even be able to turn around.

Says the guy who has a pacu in his 220? :chillpill: :chillpill: :chillpill:

To the OP, you have a few choices, it largely depends on whether you plan on getting a bigger tank down the line... so instead of the rest of us assuming whether or not the OP will, let's just ask! :D

OP: What are your long term plans for an eel? Keep it in your 150, or are you going to upgrade at some point?

eel are "one" of those kinds of fish that can be house in not so big tanks compared to there size thing a ma jigs

smell me on that?

Don't think most of you realize how big a 36" plus eel is. No way you could house a fire or TT for life in any 150g tank.

Yes, and as I have repeated to many different people MANY MANY times, I am well aware that a rb pacu needs much more than I can provide, but when I bought it, I didn't know that (made the newb mistake of trusting online care sheets for factual info), but I've been trying for months to rehome it, but obviously no one wants it. Now that I know better, I would never suggest putting a pacu in anything less than 360-450 gallons.

btw, I didn't mean to come off as offensive, I was just trying to prevent some major overstocking.

No problem bro, I was just busting your chops anyway. :grinno:

I think this thread is done until the OP answer these questions, and it looks like he might not.

I still think it would be ok, they don't require that much turn around room, if it were over filtered. And these fish do love to hide, spending large amounts of time hiding, and when no hiding spaces are found they tend to bury themselves in the substrate.

Yep, right along with bettas in cups and RES in ten gallon tanks

My TT is active all night long, needs lots of room to move. Substrate would have to be 6-8" deep in order for a large 36"+ eels to bury themselves :screwy: Your lack of experience keeping large eels is very apparent.
