That kind lives in fresh water, brackish, and salt water shallows. I brought forward the other thread with the info links.

Yeah, the guy I had was an oyster toadfish. A family friend caught a bunch of them in his lobster traps so he gave me the smallest he caught. I don't know if any one has heard of this place, "Wood's Hole" but he actually sells the extra he catches to this place. They are pretty well known on teh East Coast for there Marine Bio studies. They used the oyster toadfish a while ago in a space experiment where they helped NASA send two into space.
Heres an article on the space thing http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/1998/10/981031180101.htm

From when I was doing research on a 'FW Lionfish' (Vespicula Decompressifrons), I came to the realization there are a TON of scorpinidae fish, or ones of similiar families, being labelled as FW Lionfish. I have seen a NUMBER of fish given this common name, due to it not being able to be properly identified. This makes it hard to pinpoint the husbandry needs of each species, which can be frusterating. I always wondered with these type of fish if there was something we are lacking to stimulate them into being more active.

If anyone ever finds 'Goblin Waspfish' or 'Butterfly Goby' aka Vespicula Decompressifrons, then I would like some. They are a brackish water 'Lionfish' but is actually somewhat active.

i have one and he eats feeders like nothing else but he ate my baby tiger shovelnose catfish :swear:

i've seen them labeled as stone fish also. those things dont seem to move at all. all they do is lay on the bottom. lazy buggers.

I have also seen them labeled as stone fish. I bought 2 at hong kong tropical fish in norwalk for 9.99 each. they didnt last really long in there and I eventually flushed one down the toilet because it had fungus and slime on it from a wound.
