fresh water sting rays

If your familliar with wet/drys, i would go for a big sump on that tank. Or if you would prefer canisters, you would need at least 2 FX5s or a couple of large eheim canisters.

10X turnover is a bit over kill in some tank setups. But that also depends on the type of filtration used. For HOB filters, aim for at least 10Xs, canisters at least 6Xs and sumps at least 4Xs turnover. or that could at least be a general guide line. More is better, but you also dont want to create whirlpool in the tank. choose the type of filtraion you are most comfortable with and are familiar with and go from there.

No, the Pentair Complete Pond Filter System would not be a great choice. looks like it has very little room for bio-media. Plus it would also be an internal filter, which would take up alot of real estate in the tank.

For a recommended sump. i would just make one. check out the one i made for an idea....

the question about the emperor 400s was disregarded after what was said, i was asking as a new question what kind of filtration should i use, thanks for help
I still cannot believe you'd even consider filtering that thing with two HOBs. As mentioned, no disrespect intended.

and just as a question so dont crucify me 4 it, would a Pentair Complete Pond Filter System be a good choice?
Nobody will crucify you, who are we to do that, and if you took my comments that way I must apologize. Please take it as genuine surprise, because that tank needs a lot of filtration, and dare I ask what did you keep in there before this, what was the filtration that you used?

and do you know of a specific sump i should use

The largest (that would fit under the tank) that you can afford. Is the tank plumbed?

No worries, I am not a mean and inconsiderate bastard, but you had the misfortune of coming right after a guy filtering his 75gal with a powerhead. Now, can you post some pictures of the tank and I can help further with the choice of filtration?

Perfect sump design, now for a 360gal, just use a 90 x 120gal (4'long) as you need a little more space for media for a ray tank.

large canisters or a sump... salt water rays are your best choice on florida...
