What do these cute little guys eat? I haven't really seen him eat yet and have had him or it what ever, for about two weeks now. So I couldn't really find anything about care on the net. I would appreciate some schooling please.
I think this fish is anadromous or brackish at best. I would do more research concerning distribution and habitat specifications in order to provide the most natural home enviroment.
Good Luck.
Stone fish are lunging ambush predators. They use their camoflauge to conceal themselves in various benthic enviroments while waithing on an unsuspecting fish to swim by. I might try quaruntined feeders.

Are you a union carpenter? Anyhow thanks for the info. LFS will tell you anything to sell you a fish. They mentioned nothing about brackish water or feeding them.
We catch these guys a lot where we fish (without trying). They like brackish water. They like to take the mud minnows and shrimp on our hooks. It sucks taking them off because they spread out all those spines! Cool looking fish though. Thought about keeping the next small one to steal my bait.
They are poisonous but I don't know the extent of the venom. It may be like a Wasp fish, a bit painful but nothing too serious. I really don't know. I keep my hands well away from their fins.
Not poisonous. mine eats anything that swims in front of him- lol and some other foods like shrimp and cut fish. He has eaten anything i tried to put in with him including an almost 10 in needlenose. Took him a couple days to get it all down but he did it. Only thing that he gets along with is my eel. The tank varies from 1.005 to 1.0015 salinity level. Good luck with him they can be boring but if you feed live they can be fun to watch.
