I dont mean the Amazonica actually but I obviously like them too, hence the name, I have someone here in ireland importing a batch of them for me, hoping to get them next week!!

I'm talking about something akin to antennarius biocellatus which I believe lives in brackish water but I'm willing to be corrected on this.
Or possibly the freshwater lionfish Batrachomoeus trispinosus or Allenbatrachus grunniens.

So has anybody seen these fish or Dan can you get them? Im especially interested in the antennarius biocellatus or even more so if you know of something similar which is true freshwater.

I have 2 Allenbatrachus grunniens which I purchased from Wharf Aquatics. There was a goos spread on them all a few months ago in Practical Fishkeeping which I believe Richard Hardwick wrote.

My Grunniens are in with a Fowleri and Knife fish and as you expect are very much ambush predators.

The ones that PrehistoricMonsterFish is talking about are actually Frogfish that you see in marine aquariums. The one's that use their fins to 'walk'. These guys can live in brackish and freshwater which is really strange for a familly that almost totally marine.

This is a tall order, good luck!

Well I wanted to know about the grunniens too but yeah it is the frogfish that I'm mainly talking bout. Dunno if it counts as a monster fish cause it stays quite small but it's definatly the weirdest FW/BW fish your likely to see.
I know there extremely rare in the hobby too though.
The gauntlet has been laid down, Dan, Can you find them?
If you import from the western pacific then then there is a chance!
