Freshwater archerfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are just so cool! Maybe someday, but not today. I need a larger tank to be fair to them, esp. as wild caught - I feel like they deserve the best natural habitat possible when pulled from the wild. I really want someone else to grab them so I can watch them longer. They are on aquabid now - get em! ;) I'll do a search now, maybe I can drool over someone elses.

Agree with you magpie on how cool that are. There's several that are raising these same ones from Wet spot in the Portland and vancouver area. They seem to be a hardy fish on freshwater. Beleive the biggest hurdle is feeding. Getting them away crickets and onto pellets.

I just checked out your link, thanks! I love them. I'll be poking you for updates now and then.

I have read about them being picky, but am happy to hear yours converted to prepared foods.

They do well if the diet contains Vestigial winged Drosophila (easy to cultivate), they are great fish but do need a decent quantity of live food to do well.

I have kept and studied these a few times over the years.
