We have small FW clams and larger FW mussels in this area, the mussels at least should not be kept in tanks with fish, the ones here don't do well in warm water and do produce parasitical larvae. They are enlongate as opposed to clam shape. Here is a pic of a golden clam and a FW mussel. The asian or golden clams are forbidden in many states as nuisance species.
