can i keep any species of freshwater eel in a standard 10 gal?
it is currently stocked with some guppies (dont really care if they get eaten)
3 lemon tetras,2 painted tetras,1 dwaf frog,2 blood fins

i want to add a type of eel or another cool fish any other suggestions

not any that have been discovered so far.... also, i think that you should get rid of all of you tetras except for one species and replace them with the remaining species kin. tetras need groups of 6 or more of the same species

there are a few spiny eels that barely grow 8" that should do well in a 10g tank.

the common names can vary, and different species may share the same common name. some are called peacock spiny eels, spotted spiny eels, siamese spiny eels, etc.

Kuhli loaches arent eels but resemble them and are pretty neat.

a 10 gallon is too small for any spiny eel. Get a loach instead

peacocks get over a foot so there a no go but try zig zag spiny eel they don't get over 6'' they get a little fat but are nice LITTLE eels not true eels but look just like em
