Is there any mangrove that i can grow in a fw tank?

probably... the water needs to be made very brackish though... also u would need a very tall tank and/or no lid with lights that hang from the ceiling.

If the water is brackish...it's not fw

I think if the mangrove is sprouted in fw, it could possibly grow in fw. I have heard that they can't be switched from salt to fresh very well

lol.. brackish is freshwater with salt water in it...the salinity level in brackish water is far more closer to freshwater then then salt water...

Technically, brackish water contains between 0.5 to 30 grams/L

the salinity of marine water is defined over 35g/L...

mangroves grow in brackish/saline water im telling u!!

'' Mangroves are trees and shrubs that grow in saline coastal habitats in the tropics and subtropics – mainly between latitudes 25° N and 25° S. The saline conditions tolerated by various species range from brackish water, through pure seawater ''

look here!!

i agree lol

i think some mangroves can grow in freshwater, possibly the red mangroves.

but its important not to change salinity once they begin to grow

Mangroves don't require salt water, they can tolerate it. The main reason you don't see too many of them on freshwater shores is their method of seed dispersal. Their seeds are carried by water currents, which generally flow towards the oceans or up and down a coastline, not inland to fresher water.

lol u fail to understand,..:screwy::screwy:

this will be my last statement, and i stand by it. the end

salt water and brackish water are very different... that's my point... adding a bit of salt to ur freshwater tank will make it brackish but i will be far from marine/salt water. any body of water that has more then .5 grams/L of salt is considered brackish by definition..;)

u will not see me speak again in this thread.. debate over...it is for me at least..
