Freshwater mangrove?

I do fail to understand...your "argument"(?). I'm quite aware of what brackish water is. Salinity is a continuum of values from basically pure water to the saturation level of salt in water. I don't understand your clear split between brackish and marine, but not between brackish and fresh. If brackish is fresh, then how is the salinity of brackish close to the salinity of fresh? That's like saying I'm close to my own height.

Ok i work at a preserve that has 3200 acres well a group took out a red mangrove and put it in a pot so the only water it gets is fresh water and has been alive for 3 years now if not longer it will grow fine

Wow, this got out of hand. He wants to know if you can have a freshwater mangrove, not brackish. Though they are close many fish may tolerate brackish but live longer and happier in freshwater. So I'm not familar with mangrove plants, can they be grown successfully in a freshwater (no salt) environment?
