I have a problem. I need to quarenteen a 1' FW moray in with a silver dollar for a few weeks . Can silver dollars take ANY salinity? Also what would you say the smallest thing this eel is safe with?

wow another thread on these guys just start converting the moray to salt water now it will do alot better in the long run they are not a true fresh water species so bring you salinity up slowly

How slowly should I raise it? He's in a 10 gallon Quarentine tank. Can I move the SD to a tank full of smaller fish as long as they on't fit in his mouth? Or is my SA cichlid tank better?

 I can't do math, you are going to have to get someone who is good at math to help you. I just mix in 1 cup per 5 gallons for my fish.

You don't measure your salt by doing the math when you mix it. You need to get a hydrometer, or even better a refractometer to measure your salt content.

How do you do that when your slowly raising salinity..?

You do 10-20% water changes and ensure that the new water going in is the desired salt level with a hydrometer (or preferably a refractometer). Over time you will replace freshwater with salted water.

Ok..Thanks guys. =)
What would you say the idael habitat would be for the G.tiles?:)
