FreshWater Morays Eels : Gymnothorax polyuranodon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Gymnothorax polyuranodon. I've got a little one of these, had him for about a year now, last 6 months in full marine. What little info I could find said that while yes there are dedicated freshwater populations they haven't been collected from. Don't quote me on this one but I seem to recall they were in australia and if that's the case getting FW populations of this eel into the hobby would be extremely difficult and unlikely. More than likely most of that species that the average person would see are going to be from estuaries. Like I said, my guy has been thriving in full marine conditions, not even a feeding hiccup. ;) BTW, He was sold to me as a TRUE FW moray.;)

Either way, GREAT vid! Such an interesting species.

omg thats so awesome!!! how did u get them!!! i want!!! :)

my lfs in las vegas has two tanks of those for sale. i was gunna get one but it was over 100 dollars. :nilly: i think they can get as big as salt water morays, but the biggest one i saw at my lfs was about 1.5 feet.

me I paid it not too expensive, 25 € if I am mistaken except for some euros, now I do not know how much it costs because the fact of speaking about it a little everywhere on the fabric gives desire to people for having some and creates a request who says request tells to auguementation, sorry the friends but one with need for information on this murene thus one speaks about it, me from of this moment I go tried to find a dimorphism on my toad fish I succeeded caused a laying

I do not know if I am to have only made a success of this laying but I did not find anything on the fabric on this subject, therefore if one does not speak about it and well one is likely to hurt the things, I hope that we will advance on the study of this murene that it is on this forum or another it is necessary that one can join together our information ;)

for gymnothorax polyuranodon you need the brackish water (minimum salt 2 tablespoon/galon),the same like gymnothorax tile and echidna rhodochilus from my pictures.Put some caves in your aquarium.

not so sure that for the brackish, waiting confirmation on are the middle, because it is also found in adult-sized rivers in New Caledonia chance for me, an french person who took pictures and also to a nationality French is the time that it says I am still puzzled about it (brackish or freshwater)

However, I asked about their social inter-specific, I raised a question whether the brackish polyrunanodon goes without any problems then I mix it with the tile, because the tile and two larger and larger?
