go with apistos! a few tetras, live plants.. maybe a pair of rams... throw a piece of driftwood in there..

what about Gymnogeophagus.

I like the australoheros, do they all have the dark coloration? What kind of behavior from these guys? What other fish can i keep with these?

Thorichthys aureum - they look pretty cool too, i couldnt gind many photos though. looks similar to FM's. Can i keep any other fish with them?

I had a pair of Gymnogeophagus sp paso pache II in my 29 (30x12" like this tank)

The male chased the female relentlessly, they are now in a 75.

Maybe it would have worked if they had been paired up already.

I keep a brreding pair of Australoheros Oblongum (a dwrf Chanchito) in my 46G. Rather peacful pair even when breeding. I have 3 small Keyhole Cichlids, 8 Tetras, cories, and a BN pleco with them an no aggression at all. They get darker when breeding. They are also called Chameleon Cichlid as they chang colors in the blink of an eye.

Any suggestions on filtration equipment? What is better, a biowheel like an emporer, or a canister filter?
