Opportunistic predator ... too bad really.
If you were willing to risk it, you should be able to accept the consequences.

why would one young aro kill it own?? they are well fed. and they lookied like they were getting along great.. This is the first incident in the "young tank" and I was sad to see it an aro. Perhaps it's time for another tank... sooner than I hoped but...
Everyone in the tank has gotten along great and it's been about a month now.. water parameters are excellent, but maybe they just need more space.

Anyone have experience with aro's and discus in the same tank???
Just curious.. I've seen pics of them together but dont have much info on how they would react to one another.. That would be a beautiful combo if it would work..

it's a prawn, not a crawfish..
and if he's on steriods I didnt inject him....:)

I agree with you. I did it to myself and my fish. Just looking for an answer so I dont make the same mistake. I appreciate all the feed back. Thank you all.

Keeping a pair of silvers only works about 33% of the time. While the aro may not have actually killed the other aro, it may have stressed and weakened it enough to allow the prawn to overpower the young aro.

I kept aros with discus, best if the discus are adults and hardy eaters.
