What are some monster puffers that can be kept in straight freshwater like red eye puffers or figure 8s?

yeah fig 8s are brackish

How small can a fish be and still be a monster? I wouldn't consider the 2" Fig. 8 a monster. Unless we're counting appetite and cuteness, anyhow.

Agreed. If you want freshwater puffer monsters, your choices are simple IMO... Fahaka or Mbu. And if you want a Mbu be prepared to get a monster tank that goes with the monster puffer.

hit up www.**************.com

they have the most complete listing of FW/BW/SW puffers i've found so far and the info is very accurate.

i've never kept fahaka or mbu due to size considerations at the moment, they need more room than most people can afford to give them (mbu that is).

Well Mbu and Fahaka are the monster freshwater puffers , but a good "mini" monster freshwater puffer is A.Modestus, or bronze puffer, they are great neon green and look like triggerfish, they also have the famous puffer attitude and teeth! I am keeping a 4.5 inch bronze in a 20 long. I hear that should keep him for life.
