I am keeping a 4.5 inch bronze in a 20 long. I hear that should keep him for life.
Cyclop3000;472696; said:Agreed. If you want freshwater puffer monsters, your choices are simple IMO... Fahaka or Mbu. And if you want a Mbu be prepared to get a monster tank that goes with the monster puffer.
jeffthefish;473508; said:My LFS has a puffer that matches your description of A.Modestus. Probably the same species, but I can't find a pic of A. modestus on google. What does the A. stand for? Could it be Chonerhinos modestus? Like this one: http://www.piranha-fury.com/pfury/uploads/post-4-1077498185.jpg
That's the one my LFS has. I'd buy it in an instant if I had a tank for it, and I've been pretty tempted to buy a tank just so I can have it.

Hilly;473738; said:They're great puffers, one of the larger freshwater ones before you get to Fahakas or Mbu's, not the most active but more active than some of the lurkers. I've only seen 2 colour varieties and the red variety is very striking.
