Getting close to putting this together. New questions, though.
The substrate in the biotope is almost purely comprised of decayed leaf skeletons. I want to do that in the tank for sure. Can you forsee any problems with that scenario? I think to clean them I'd be putting them in a mesh bag and rinsing/squeezing out as much muck as I can. This probably means replanting the whole thing every six months or so. Can that work in the long haul? Do I even need to worry about thhe muck if I have a carpet of plants?
