I have a 40 breeder sump with an approximately 14 gallon section that is fed by my return pump and usually runs about 1-200 gph. This number can be adjusted with a ball valve.

What kind of cool ideas can you MFKr's come up with for me?! Plants, fish, bio media....right now there are only 4-5 mystery snails in it.

Here's a picture.

I have never done a sump refugium before but I been doing a little reading on them, but why not have the refugium in the middle section and have the pump on the far right?

Because of the way the baffles are set up. If I did it that way the 3 pane baffle would be bypassed. And I actually have put my heater in between those panes to increase efficiency. Also, this way the refugium gets water that has been cleaned by the filter sock.

Live plants fast growing ones that will eat nitrate.

Any specific suggestions? Other than hornwort. Because of the way the baffle is set up with the water flowing over it the hornwort would become a mess very quickly if it is floating.
