Freshwater shrimp

i have red cherry shrimp in my discus tank and the discus do not eat them at all and plus i got 4 cambarellus patzcuarensis wich are brownish in color strangely they have eaten up the orange cambarellus 3 of emm

Shrimp + cichlids = no shrimp.....

I have tried shrimp in both my planted cichlid tanks (6c2x2 & 4x2x2) - plenty of hiding places in both plants and rocks. I put 20 shrimp in each tank, some never made it to cover when I set them loose and it was 3 days till they were all gone in the 6x2x2 (adult fish) They lasted about a week and a half in the 4x2x2 (juvenile fish, largest 2")

Both tanks are well fed 2x daily... I guess the shrimp were the between meal snacks....

The only one I can think of that might be safe is the vampire shrimp (Atya gabonese)

there are some filter feeding shrimp and a couple others that get bigger and should be fine.

yeah i have two bamboo shrimps in my tank now with rainbow cichlids, mixteco blue and loaches. they are fine and they hide among the plants and nobody bothers them or pays them anymind

i wouldn't trust my angel with shrimp...he'd eat it for sure. or at least kill it.

i have cherry shrimp in my planted 120 with 10 angels. didnt see them often but they did live. though i would set up a 10 gal shrimp tank then move them over as they breed.
