I saw this come up for sale today and I’ve never heard of or seen one. There’s not much on the web about them. Anyone know anything about these?

That’s a mangrove jack, need at least very hard water, do better in brackish and full marine. They can go there whole lives in fresh though. From My personal experience and that of others they are not very sociable and are equipped to do serious damage big teeth and powerful jaws. Will get 20” plus easily in the right conditions and they grow fast.

I don't know much about them other than they prefer brackish water, but can do full marine and freshwater, and that they get huge and are very predatory. I wouldn't really be able to tell you how to care for one aside from the fact you'll need a tank that's atleast 8 feet long and 4 feet wide, probably more with very heavy filtration.

Lutjanus maculatus,an Australian species.Shops around here used to bring in small juveniles and try and pass them off as red finned datnoids.I knew better but as a lover of most Perciformes I've kept them a few times before selling them off as they began to wear out their welcome. They grow a serious set of teeth as they age.
Here are are internet photos of some juvies.

I wish I didn’t re home mine, hands down smartest fish I’ve ever owned there personality is awesome.
I’m renting my house , so I’m not getting any monster tanks right now, but when I buy a house, I’m probably gonna get one. How big was yours?
