Freshwater snowflake eel ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
+1 only true freshwater eel are the Anguilla spp.

(Except for mastacembelids, don't worry, I haven't forgot. But they're still Perciformes, not eels.)

The whole slime thing happend to mine also it has to be brackish to full on salt to be healthy

I decided to take him back to the lfs, i told the guy the things that you people have told me. Thanks to you, he took the eel and have me my money back. I just have fw tanks. thanks again

I'm very glad this worked out so well. Yay!

I purchased a FW moray also and was going to take it back but decided to go ahead and set up a brackish tank which Ive never done before. Anyone know how long I have to get this guy to the brackish and also will the water have to gradually raise in salinity or will he strive going straight in to brackish? I can have the tank set up in about a week then cycle time.

I would switch it over the course of 2 or 3 hours by putting more and more brackish water in with it in a bucket or something, just to be safe. Make sure whatever you're using for that is secure so it doesn't jump for it.
