"Freshwater" Snowflake Moray

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Have always kept snowflake moray in full marine, didn’t even know they could go to brackish so will be interesting to see results.

These are gymnothorax tile, the mud eel. One of the common names is snowflake eel. Not the e nebulosa though.

Ah, that would be why. Never heard of those called snowflake eel, just freshwater moray (although seen online now some call them snowflake). I have kept gymnothorax tile before in freshwater, albeit they did better at 1.010-1.012

Yeah, everything I’ve read says medium to high brackish. If someday I get one I’ll probably bring it up to 1.018 so I can put some hermit crabs as cleanup and probably get guppies/mollies for feeders/movement.

Any update on your eel? My lfs is bringing one in for me.

Looking good
Hiding as it's supposed to
Not much trouble with aggression
Eating (as far as I'm aware)

I am sorry I haven't uploaded a picture, it's really annoying to upload pic from my phone here especially since I only have iOS and don't have access to the MFK app
If I can remember I will post it sometime in the following days
