I know that alot here keeps freshwater rays and we know that it is expensive,so why not keep the saltwater types then??haven' tried saltwater tanks though, but alot keeps a single dedicated tank for a single FW ray,so why not keep SW rays instead:confused:

I know I am going to offend somebody with this.

But I don't care :D

Saltwater rays have a huge lack of personality when compared to their freshwater counterparts.

I have never owned a sw ray, but from what I have seen I am not impressed.
The saltwater ones seem to be like every other saltwater fish.

aside from that saltwater rays need a lot more space and tend to be kind of touchy with that whole death thing

im not sure my bank account could handle all the salt and whatnot needed for all the water changes...
i have a salt tank with just some standard SW fish and corals and the upkeep is costly enough without having to do water changes more than i already am which is 30% every 2 weeks.

i'll stick with my FW rays and just use good ole tap water and a dose of prime :)

so you mean you are after its rarity?:)

Nothing wrong with saltwater rays i just dont see the point in having all that damaging, searching, corrosive liquid which is needed to keep them in when their freshwater counterparts are generally more attractive anyway,at least from what ive seen in the trade anyway, apart from the odd blue spot which are incidentely very beautiful and cheap, that seems to be it.

once you setup a big salt tank for rays, its gonna be expensive too. Its really preference. you're going to spend money whether your rays are fw or sw, so why not get what you like? I will say it is much easier to keep a 300 gallon FW tank than a 300 gallon salt tank.
