Ok, so I've seen countless threads asking what the most aggressive Piranha .. Cichlid .. Arrowana .. Etc is. I want to know what everyones opinion is as to what is the most aggressive, realistic to keep, Freshwater fish. It can be Territorial aggression or Predatory aggression or just a mean S.O.B. My only rule is that it has to be able to live in an aquarium that a hobbiest can afford and maintain. Basically I don't want people to say things like the Bullshark which can live in freshwater, because obviously the average person can not keep one as a pet. No real meaning behind this thread other then I thought it would be an interesting topic.

jardini arows are pretty nasty... also atf can be nasty... this is a whole opinion based thread a poll would make a conclusion easier....

buettikoferi or red devils are killers, in my experience. especially lonely males

or snakeheads. They suck big time

Thats exactly what I was looking for, a whole bunch of opinions. Thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks is the most aggressive Freshwater fish. I like reading these types of threads because of all the different answers that I hopefully will get.

im not saying there the worst but if you piss of a pacu they will go ape **** and break every thing they can

Do a search theres a million threads on this already and they always end in it depends on the fish

This is going to sound stupid, but I have this Snow White Cichlid who, out of 11 tankmates, owns half a 100g tank. He is 3.5" and seriously bullies a 10" Oscar.
Haven't had much experience with actual Monsters.

I'm told dorados are serious badasses.

I guess it sort of depends on how you view aggression...an alligator gar will be able to eat most anything you'd throw in with it; it's big, has a big mouth & appetite etc. But if you account for size there's probably a smaller fish that's more aggressive.
