what does a 2" friedrichsthalii look like?

i think i know a shoip which has one, me and the manager could not decide between fredy and rtm, it has all the charecteristics, of a fred but has a red bit above the gills which makes us unsure, it does have a yellow tint but so do RTM.

any help is thanked for

any pics of one this size i will be greatful.

will i be ok with 1-2" grammodes?? i would say its bigger then all the grammodes but not by much.

thanks

howard.

are bars visible? if you can get me a pic i have had both rtms and freddy at that size

the bars are not visble like in parachromis managuense, the bars look like a freddy, a bit like queenslanders zombie fred in his avatar

ill try to get some pics if i can.

could u get pics of each of yours (males if u can cause this is a male) then i could say for myself, if its like any or what.

thanks for the reply

he also does have a bit of cyan along his dorsal. not sure if RTM have this.

thats most likely a freddy, rtms dont have the turquoise edged dorsal and dont show bars unless stressed, breeding, or fighting

ok umm how about the red on the gill plate? its a lighter red directly above gill.

Red dots are common in females it kinda looks like she has blush on but I would say a female freddy.
hmm ok well thanks, ill try get some pics.

I don't know of any Freeddie that would have red on the operculum (gill plate).

Here's a few shots of juvenile Freddies. Three in this group shot:
