If the gills are showing through, you have bigger problems than ID'ing the fish. I don't think it's that.

A lot of the Parachromis species look similar at a juvenile size. The red in the operculum is typically in RT Motaguense and possibly Managuense. It's possible that you have a yellow (female) Managuense.
