WTF! (dude that is sick) (not in a good way either) man i feel sorry for that stingray i know how it feels to have favorite species of fish die on you like that. I lost over a dozen redtail cats to fungis(made me want to cry inside and just almost gave up on fish...) One of my worst was a tumor on my irridesents sharks on it's left side of it's gills it's doing fine now, the tumor is gone it was removed.

I hope None of us have to go thourgh that i just there are remedies in the future to treat that illnes in the future.
 
that is something ive never seen before in fish. why not though i suppose. sorry bout the ray
 
OMG i am truly sorry to hear of this..


i would think it has nothing to do with feeding habits but the ray developed some sort of disease like cystic fibrosis similar to what humans get ,and the same thing can happen to humans. or at least have read and had a family member it happened to long time ago. im no expert thats for sure!

So hard to diagnose the true cause but like humans I'm sure rays can also have disease. and or atleast get something later in life.
