Friendly puffer? (Fresh)

I wouldn't put a mbu with anything, IMO. A 3 foot puffer seems to be a monster that deserves it's own tank ;) Dwarf puffers are awesome, however they're so tiny you'll lose them in anything bigger than, say, a 30 gallon (depending on how many dwarfs you have). I would think you could keep 1-3 SAPs in the 55 with a few african peacock cichlids (not as aggressive as other africans, so less likely to beat on the SAP). I've heard many success stories about SAPs with a wide variety of fish, so I think it's trial and error, depending on the individual. And to the best of my knowledge, I'm pretty certain "leopard" puffers are the same as greenspot puffers.

I have a clown knife, a brown knife, several angels, rainbow shark, id shark, tire track eel, and two pleco. Are there any species that you know of that would be compatible? I wouldn't mind moving fish around to different tanks if I must.

I've been keeping 3 SAP's in my community tank for almost a year now. They are housed with Rope fish, Green Severum, 3 Angels, Jaguar Cat, Zebra Eel, Ctenopoma, an Baby Whale. I have never seen any aggression from or toward other fish. The Angel fish fin are of no interest to them. Even though they are about 1/10 the size of the severum there is no problem. The SAP's are the most active an coolest fish in the tank. The look like little submarines. I will also tell you that all the fish were house in a 55 with no problems but now the are all much larger an in 125. If you can find some SAPs I'd so go for it!!! Well worth it. It took me almost 2 years to find some online.
They only down side to SAPs is the require teeth trimming a couple times a year. That is pretty crazy. I've had to do it once. It was kinda scary but they came out fine an are fat an happy after.

^ MBU is a freshwater the puffer, only problem is being the largest freshwater puffer they require a tank much much larger than 125 to live in long term...

Personally, i wouldnt put one in anything less than an 800G tank which is why i never have and likely never will own one...
