sorry about your lost!! i had a neafu who killed one of fishes before, i was damn crying inside of me!!!:(

I'm starting to think it's better to have no one fish sit for a weekend that anyone who wants to help so much. I can't believe how much skanky leftover food was in my tank last time....

Did you ever end up finding another snakehead?? Im from Aus too and can agree that 3000 is probably about right although technically i wouldnt know because i have never seen one for sale.
Does any Aussies know where snakeheads are for sale as ide love to get one too although 3000 is abit out of my price range?? Ive heard about china town in the US as being a good place to find rare fish for cheap does anyone know if that applies here too?

Never seen one for sale (not the sort of thing your lfs is going to have on show) but my chinese boss made a few calls for me one day and tracked down dead snakeheads in about 5 minutes. He offered to take me through chinatown and assured me he could find live ones (think restaurants).

Thats in Bris, I reckon Sydney would be the spot for fish like this.

Looks like im gonna have to take a trip to syd then and see what i can find. I just think it would be good because if they are brought over as food then im sure i can get one for $20 or something. I hope anyway.

I look at it this way it's not my responsability to watch your kids when you come over it's yours... If you fail at your job then you should be held liable. In this case the mother is held liable and should pay. Then you should teach your kids the difference between right and wrong. Put it this way say your kids get to be teenagers and decide to take the shotgun one day and kill a hawk or something. Guess what the state and federal law don't care that they didn't know the bird is protected ignorance of the law is your own fault not the laws. You come to my house and don't watch your kids I'm not going to ruin my afternoon eagle eyeing your kids to make sure they act right, you had them you watch them. In this case the mom should pay up point blank no questions asked maybe if she goes through the trouble of trying to track down a SH to replace then she'll think twice before letting her kids run wild...

I wish I'd said that!
