If you want friends your age, go to places where they would hang out. College, bars, fish stores........ If you cant find friends on your own, the intenet isnt a better place.

Geez, this is a rude welcome.
He did not say anything about age, just interest in fish.
Nor did he say that he could not find friends, just that this forum might be a place to meet some new ones.
I have talked to several people here of at least two sexes, several religions, varied races, and many professions and backgrounds. If they were local I would probably want to meet them in person. Then again, there are some I would not.
One thing I would like everyone to bear in mind is how you would feel if you were new to this site and expressed an interest in meeting some fellow members, then had a pile of virtual feces dumped on your head instead.
It was rude and immature.
Play nice or don't play.

It didnt come across to me that he was looking for "fish-buddies"......im harsh, yeah i know but looking for "friends" on the net is dangerous. Go to clubs, bars, aquariums, lfs, etc. im sure it will be more productive.

hey its true my friend met some guy in canada and thought he was cool and they share the same intrest in this game we all play so he invited him down to stay with him and the kid came and he turned out to be a really cool mofo. Plus if you meet up with people if your like me I just bring my friends and check the place out first.
