In some of the threads I have seen frogs identified as a food source for Arowanas. I have a Black Arowana a little over 2’ and on rare occasions I have given him a frog or two (wood frogs, green frogs, spring peepers) or tadpoles to eat.

My questions or concerns are:
- Can the frogs/tadpoles be a source of parasites? Fish & frogs are both coldblooded so I would guess they are susceptible to similar parasites.
- Should I be concerned about any poisons/toxins from the frogs? I believe most amphibians have some level of poisons even though most are not very potent.

My kids catch frogs all summer long and if they are a safe form of food I will add them to the diet.

i would be concerend about wild caught frogs but ive given my silver small frogs bought from my lfs

frogs are dirty and carry parasites.

exactly in the wild and frogs are not the main part of their diet

frogs are a good food sorce if they are not the staple...i feed frogs to my fish without issues...i feed wc foods to my fish all the time and wc foods are a large part of my fishes diet...everyone is so scared of wc foods do to disease...the chance of getting one is slim to none...you are catching them so you can see the healthy or sick ones...don't feed the sickly ones and you will be fine...live wc food is like a 'tank busting' fish...one or 2 have done it so all will do it...the only real sertaine thing is that all aros jump...they do this behavior in the wild to eat so they wont just change that cause they are in a tank...

people in asia feed their asian aros frogs all the times for years.... i'd feed them to my jardini too if i could obtain them live frogs in the mid west here.
