I purchased a $70 honey frogspawn. the guy told me that they like undirect strong flow. I would like to know everything about these type of corals ex: what can I do so it can open the way it did at the store and what can I do to make it spread faster

moderate flow/lihting. got one at my local aquarium manufacturer will ask for you.

yeah moderate flow. i accidentally put mine right next to direct flow and killed a branch. i think it was too stressed. good lighting and basic care (water changes) will make them open. IMO its a pretty easy coral, just need the right placement.

Ok so I just added 8 ponds on live rock yesterday and the frogspawn looked very bad. its ok now but not as it was before, should I do a small water change 2morow? I dont think it has been a week since my last water change.

8 lbs of live rock? dont tell me your still cycling your tank?

if your not still cycling your tank.. how big is your tank? you might have sparked a mini nitrogen cycle by adding more live rock.

what kind of lighting do you have? can you describe how it is looking? if its not how it looked when it was at the lfs... there is a good chance you might have lost the frogspawn.

I have 29g tank which has been running for almost 9 months if I m not mistaking. before the 8lbs of live rock, there was like 3 to 4 lbs (most fragments) of very nice all around purple live rock that I had got from the store last yr. I have been having a skilter and a powerhead running all this time. I have 1 dansel and one Goby for more than 4 months. And last I have had one powerglow light in there (the guy at the store told me that I will need like 3 strips in there).

PS: Before anyone start to screem there heads off just no that when it comes to saltwater keeping I know very super little and most of I know I m learning on my own by reading and asking questions. So yes all the help I can get will be very bery appreciated.:)

thats not a frogspawn, thats a hammer :(
frogspawn looks like this http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?pCatId=519

general rule of thumb for salt water is 1lb of live rock per 1g of water. there is a possibility you might have created a small nitrogen cycle in your tank by a decent amount of live rock all at once.

power glow light? sorry im not familiar with that. would you happen to know if that power glow light is some kind of power compact? if so, check to see how much wattage it puts out.

also noticed your damsel. i would suggest getting him out while you can, that guy is a punk when he starts to get bigger.

You've got 1 normal output bulb over the tank? Thats not enough to support coral. Take it back to your LFS and get your money back before it dies.
