Woooow..ok, guys...bring it back in. we all have the best lives for our fish in mind. It's ok to have opinions, but it needn't get so heated. I have huge pieces of tannin leeching wood in my tanks and it produces a less than pretty situation but makes for some happy healthy fish.

I want just the perfect amount of only veija family cichlids.
Good luck with this.I have kept many veija species over the years and I have yet to have them work with other veija for the long haul.
It works for so long and then the bullying starts.
Great in pairs and with smaller cichlids in big tanks, but trouble with their own kind and closely related species.[/QUOTE]
I dont want bullying just a dreamy tank with impossible fish. I'm going with looking for juvi Zonatus, 6 or so, and that is that.

Dude, as long as the world has people who throw trash anywhere they please, and they will..........it's pretty much EXACTLY what they would use to take cover in the wild. Haven't you seen intentionally sunk artificial reefs funded by F&G, IGFA, and other gov't agencies? They sink cars and retired Military vehicles into the ocean after proper cleaning procedures because just like Shipwrecks they attract COUNTLESS fish and provide cover and safety.

Get out and go fishing in various places and you will see this hobby from a totally new standpoint.
With this logic I should throw a coke can and an old bake bean tin in the tank, maybe some used condoms and an old boot.
What an under water paradise.

This is not a good analogy or way of thinking Frank. I don't want my fish feeling comfy in a dump.

If you kept Axolotyls you'd wouldn't even THINK about trying to replicate their natural environment, would you?

You want what looks good to YOU, but consider how beneficial it is to the FISH

No, I just know I don't care for them or plan on keeping them. Seem too delicate

What's more important to you? Having a few more fish or the "safety" of your current one and/or ones to come?

I'm sure there are many areas of natural beauty in c/a water ways free from pvc pipes and cars.
I'd rather my tank was based on those, not the dumps you mention Frank.
