from a 125 to a 220

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
of course wider is almost always better than taller....

but i can get one hell of a deal on this tank and either way you look at it it is better than the 125.

Congrats BP, a 220 is a great tank. Is it going to be drilled? Tall is good too because you can keep some dither/targets to fill up the extra space.

Try Filament barbs. They're awesome...

Balton what do you feed yours ???

i had some a year or so ago and when they would get in to the cichlid pellets they always seemed to get bloat :(

and no it will not be drilled.

also i will be moving the filtraton off of the 125 to the new tank. that is 1 FX5, 1 XP3 and 2 Emp 400. so i will be fine on the filtration.

I've been keep them for a years with the only problem when my power cut out I lost 4 of them. They eat anything and everything I put in the tank.

Tall tanks look good, too ;) I've got a 28" high 4x2

I think wide tanks look better, have more depth, more 3d looking. A friend has a 6x3x2 and it looks awesome.

But yeah, if you can get a good deal on it then go for it, unless you're planning on getting something like a silver aro that really needs the extra width.

i agree i would rather have it wider than taller but as stated i am getting this brand new 220 tank and stand for less than 650..... that is a hell of a deal.

anyway it is not about the tank i did not post for you guys to question me on that. i posted to get some ideals on fish to add to my current stock list.

thanks for the help

i was thinking

Vieja heterospilus
or
Vieja melanurus

what do you think of that ideal ???

scratch that last ideal.....

how do you guys think a couple of Nics would work in the mix ???
