  1. Ive grown up on mostly punk and metal, played guitar ,piano, bass and a little drums.Through the years from playing ive acquired a wide appreciation for many types of music from classical to death metal, though im a Cristian i still love the driving force of the death metal i just block out the words in my head, usually cant understand them anyways:ROFL:.but now at 32 i still bust out all my old metallica and slayer, slayer cant seem to get off the bible bashing and i wish they would just stick to the war songs and stuff but oh well.I collect vinal and its alot of jazz and funk.Earth wind and fire, the gratitude album blows my mind.Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington,Got tons of it.Sade and Peter Gabriel have been my number ones since i was a kid, amazingly i didnt get to see them live until about 6 years ago and both shows were recorded for 2 of the best dvd ive ever seen.Blind boys of alabama, stevei ray, hendricks, zep, all greats in my book.
  2. Im big on Iggy pop, rollins band, tom waits,The cramps,Misfits rev horton heat etc.
  3. Techno i love Underworld the most, sasha, petshop boys, digweed,I envy moby,i creat music and wish i could have a studio like he and just spend days on end creating music for movies and such.
  4. there already is an old school metal thread for discusing the metallica days, slayer, megadeath, sod, suicidal and so on so i started this more for the music fans in general,we are not here to bash eachothers taste,on a last note,RIP James Brown.:)

Liquid Soul is an amazing jazz/funk band, you should listen to the song Spam Sucker, you'll get hooked.

If you like screamo/grindcore you should check out the band.. The number twelve looks like you.

Screamo/Grindcore or nowhere near the same thing. May sound like it, but They really cannot be compared to Grind. Grind is more related to crust punk/death metal, While screamo is more related to hardcore with Breakdowns in the music (Breakdown = slowdown in music so the hardcore kids can do there windmill flailing arm "hardcore dancing") and emotional lyrics.

For Grindcore: Destroyer Destroyer, Dance Club Massacre, Impetigo, Terrorizer, Napalm Death, Extreme Noise Terror, and quite a few others.

Lots of bands are confused with Grindcore But theyre more then Likely termed as "Mathcore" Also known as Technical Metalcore/ Technical Hardcore Bands Like The Dillenger Escape Plan show this style.

Different Subgenres include: Crustgrind, Cybergrind, Deathgrind, Goregrind, Noisecore, and P0rn0grind(wich is just Grindcore with lyrics about you know what ad other disgustingness, and is pretty much craaaap.)

Whoops I just checked Wikipedia about the number twelve looks like you.. They are Mathcore. I was going to list a screamo band, but I forgot their name.. They are local to me.. This is going to bug me all day.:irked:

Norma Jean is an okay band, had a girlfriend that listened to them all the time. I like them from time to time, but sometimes theyre songs are kind of annoying when they have random screaches then whitenoise, and weird sound affects.

A good Screamo band would have to be Comadre, you can find them on Limewire. If you can find it, download the song "Burn the Scene!"
