There's probably more than you think. Is that your cichlid on your avatar?
This is my 180 a few weeks ago with its first water test after resealing and completion of stand. Tank is now in its permanent spot in the basement and cycling.

The tank was actually in the garage when that pic was taken, not in the basement. My basement is unfinished and unheated, and the temp gets into the 50s during the winter months. Last weekend I actually bought rigid insulation and cut them out to cover all the glass area of the tank. I actually also built a canopy out of this insulation. If anything, it'll keep the heaters from coming on less often. I'll also be insulating my canisters and sump(once its built). I have a small LED light strip that is on a timer and goes on from 10am-6pm, and then the main lights will go on from 5pm-9pm, just so the fish don't get all messed up with their day/night cycle.Nice spot for it. Does your basement stay pretty warm? I have a 125 and a 55 in my basement that isn't very warm. I usually dread my wife looking at me while holding electric bill.
