yeah, i found this among some other shots while going through old photos the other day. this gar has gone through several pattern changes over the course of its development...interesting to observe such an unpredictable fish (it's got quite the attitude too at currently 25"+) --

this pic is posted in my latest gar thread in the photo forum as well, but figured i would post it here for comparison...this curious fish has changed pattern quite a few times over the years, this latest version seems to be more consistent, although the pattern in the previous pic was probably also influenced by substrate. compare pattern and size of the fish to the original pic--
