Front Q.

A 75 is a good tank for the Front plus a few little guys. Two Fronts, maybe, but I would'nt put anything else in the tank. Think 75 or bigger and you'll be good. Remeber Fronts can reach 15"+. I saw one in the 12-13" range and it was about 2" wide. That is a large bio-load from just one fish.

I strongly agree with the 6 foot tank idea... Front males can get 14" and females can get about 10". Your tank will be fine for about a year and a half then you will need at least a 6' tank. I would also keep more than 1 Front. Maybe 1 male and 2 or 3 females would work best.

Most tangs are not that colorful. If you want colors go with the Lake Malawi Peacocks. As for one Frontosa, A 55g is fine for him/her.

sorry, but i've just got to disagree. tretacephalus have amazing colors, so do leleupi, not to mention all the crazy varieties of tropheus. brichardi, buescheri, tretacanthus, i could go on and on. and in a 65 gallon tank a little community of tangs would be beautiful

Would a single Front be happy in a 65G...?

Physically the tank can contain a single frontosa, but it probably wouldn't be happy. As zekni suggested, they prefer to be in groups (which dictates having a larger tank).

A lone frontosa in a 65gal would likely be timid and reclusive rather than a extraverted like an oscar in the same setting (as a comparison).
