I am curious what the smallest number of fronts would be suggested to keep together. I know they do better in groups, or like to be, but is 4 considers a group? Would that be enough or would it be more like 6 together?

Whatever the smallest size group you think would be recommened what would be the tank size nesecary? I think they get up to 12" each so I would think a good size right?

like 125 for 4 fully grown

You need at least a 6 foot, 125 gallon tank. They get spooked and bolt and need that room so they don't knock themselves dead. I have 11 in my 125. They are not fully grown, but are between 5 and 8 inches. They have plenty of room. As they grow, eventually I'd like to have 2 males and 5 or 6 females. Any more than that, I really need a bigger tank.

I agree, six foot tank, 125 or 135 gallon, and i have six burundi in mine with some haps and will eventually have only the fronts if i decide to breed. I have heard of people keeping 1 male and 2 females in a 75 gallon (they call it trios) but i believe people have mixed success at best with the smaller tanks.:)

I have my 6 in a 125gal and added a few other fish to grow out ...the fronts are 4 inches through 8 inches and plenty of room yet for them.. one thing is frontosa grow very slow so as long as you intend to have them you will also have plenty of time to plan for them..
